Fishing
The Dalälven River and Stallfjärden are located just behind the manor, while Marmafjärden lies a short distance upstream. Here, you can fish for pike, zander (pike-perch), perch, and most freshwater species.
The manor is just a short 5-minute drive from Laxön, known for its rich fishing waters.
There are several local companies in the area offering guided fishing tours for both individuals and groups looking for a high-quality fishing experience.

Rent a Canoe or Rowboat
At the manor, you can rent both a canoe and a rowboat.
So why not take a peaceful trip along Marmafjärden as the sun slowly sets on a warm summer evening?
Or head out in the rowboat to enjoy the tranquillity and try your luck catching a beautiful fish.

Hiking
There are several beautiful nature reserves close to the manor, including Gropholmarna and Billudden.
Upplandsleden hiking trail passes along here and Gästrikeleden hiking trail is also within easy reach.
Right next to the house, you’ll also find Älvkarleö’s trail running along the river – perfect for a dog walk.
Swimming
At the back of the house, there is a public swimming area with jetties during the summer. Here, you can swim in the clear waters of Stallfjärden.
If you’re feeling a bit chilly, you can also book our wood-fired hot tub.
In nearby Gävle, you will find the Fjärran höjder water park, which also has a relaxation area.
If you prefer to swim in the sea, Rullsand Beach is just a 20-minute drive from the manor.
Furuvik
A visit to Furuvik is a great day out for all ages.
Here you will find a zoo, restaurants, an adventure park, carousels and plenty of fun, and the park also organises theme days and concerts throughout the year.
City Breaks
The manor is just a short drive from both Gävle and Uppsala, where you can peruse the shops, have a coffee at a cosy café or enjoy a delicious meal at one of the many restaurants.
Both cities also offer a rich history that will captivate children and adults alike.
Ironworks
In the area surrounding the manor, you’ll find many of Sweden’s most beautiful historic ironworks.
Why not visit the Christmas market at Gysinge, go skiing at Högbo Bruk, or enjoy a delicious summer coffee at Axmar Bruk, where you can also learn about the shipwrecks just off the coast..
Bönan
The picturesque fishing village of Bönan is a must when visiting the area.
Here you can stroll among beautiful boathouses, take a swim in the small bay, visit a small lighthouse museum and, last but not least, buy the famous smoked salmon from the local smokehouse.
